Tips To Help You Be More Productive

As a business owner you are everything and everyone to your business. You where a lot of hats a different times or maybe even at the same time. You are a marketer, project manager, owner, administrative staff, etc, and all of these jobs take up quite a portion of your time. However, you must ask yourself a very important question. Am I being productive? In order to answer this question you first need to know what “being productive” means to you and your business.
When I looked up productive in the dictionary it said “yielding results, benefits or profits. As a business owner being productive should be spending most of your time providing results and/or benefits to your clients so that you can produce the income or profit that will help you continuously provide an outstanding service or product. So for the sake of this exercise let’s say for your business being productive means being able to provide quality income producing products and/or services.
Where should you spend your time?
Now that you know what being productive is, how can you be more productive in your day to day routine? It’s very simple. Focus on the tasks that leads to the income producing products and/or services. If you are a blogger then you should spend the bulk of your time writing quality content for your blog. If you are a life coach, then you should be spending your in sessions with clients, or producing e-courses, ebooks, etc, that can truely help your client. So before you move on to the next paragraph make a list of the where you should be spending most of your time.
What to do with other daily activities?
Now don’t completely forget about your other tasks, such as email management, website management, follow up calls, customer support, your newsletter and much more. These task are very important to your business as well, but these tasks are mostly not where your heart is, and you would prefer to do the tasks that you brought your to be a business owner anyway. These tasks are also time suckers. You can spend hours on hold, or fiddling with your social media sites only to find that your day has slipped away and you have yet to work on what is most important and vital to your business. So what do you do with these repetitive tasks? You outsources them? You may be thinking “I’m a small business. I don’t have the money to outsource.” Outsourcing does not have to be expensive and the money you spend on outsourcing will be quickly recovered while you focus your time and energy on your income producing product or services.

You now know and understand that does it mean to be productive. You have identified what “being productive” means to your and your business.
