I have all these shows on television that I love to watch be never get to see and last night I was able to see a little bit of one of my favorite shoes “The Voice”. What I found out was that one of the coaches (Christina Aguilara) got rid of her BEST singer, James Campbell. When I heard the news I was completely shocked because all the coaches believe this man was going to win this season. However, it seems Christina did not agree. I thought maybe he had a bad performance but when I looked up his performance online, it was nothing short of amazing. So her sending him home was a shocker to him and to the other coaches. Christina did say why she did it and the one thing that stuck out to me was her saying she has a strategy that she believes in and she’s going to stick with it and defend it with all her heart. When she said that I couldn’t do anything but respect her. So many times we know what we want or what we should do but for one reason or another we waiver and do not follow through.
Her touched me so much that it made me think of my business journey. I had so many different goals and dreams that I would like to accomplish but instead of me stepping out and following my heart I did something else. Did it bring me success? Success is relative. Because of the road I took I was able to meet wonderful women entrepreneurs and was able to be contributing author in a book and present at various workshops and to me and other that is success. However, that thing that burned inside of me still burned and I couldn’t help but wonder, what if.
I finally stepped out and followed my heart. I am so excited and it’s causing me to restructure my business and get really really focus on what services I want to provide. But what if I didn’t allow circumstances, money, and other people’s thoughts deter me? How much farther could I have been to my ultimate success if I would have defended my belief with all my heart. Well I’m grateful for all the experiences I’ve had along the way and like I said I’m now following my heart and implementing a strategy that I know will work for me and I couldn’t be more happy. Everyone will have something to say about the decisions you make with your life, and your team, and your family, but you have to remember one key word in this “your”. When it’s time to go home everyone closes the door and lives their lives and you must do the same. Be ready and able to defend your decisions if you know it’s the right decision for you.
Take the time to share below what are some things that you would do right now if money or time wasn’t a factor.
