Implement You Families Mother’s Day Gift Into Your Business

This past weekend was Mother’s Day weekend. A time to truly celebrate the woman that God chose as a vessel to give each one of us life. For most of us this weekend was a time to “relax”, if I dare say the word. Instead of waking up early to cook breakfast, clean up the kitchen, clean the bathroom, organize and dust the house. Oh and not to mention do the laundry, our spouse and/or kids decided you deserve the time off and they did it for you.

Now if you are like some moms, sitting there doing nothing while watching your children and spouse attempt to clean as thoroughly as you can be quite painful. They still have yet to master the separating of the laundry so you fear that you will have pink undergarments to where (let’s just hope it’s only the undergarments that are pink). So you sit and cringe and eventually you get up and start doing things yourself. Or if you are like me, you take the time to prop your feet up on the couch, get a glass of lemonade (with your favorite vodka in it of course) and you watch lifetime or read a book. And you wish that this could be your life all year long, and even though come Monday you’ll be back in the routine again you are so thankful for the day you have off.

Well I want to go back to the feeling of having this luxurious life of not having to do everything all day long, all week long. Having time to actually sit and read a book, do your hair or whatever it is that you love to do but don’t because you spend so much time tending to housework. Yup, that’s the feeling I want to go back to. The feeling of being able to have a clean home, with dinner ready, while employing those around you to help you get it done. I bet you can see where I’m going with this, huh? That’s right back to our business. I bet there are times in your business you wish you could not do the “housework” in your business but really just focus on the things you really enjoy doing. That could be listening. You may really enjoy listening to your clients during your coaching session and only if you could listen longer, or listen to more people, or be focused listening and not thinking about what you have to do next. You may really enjoy speaking, and only if you were talking to more people or was needed at more events. Whatever it is that you love doing the business “housework” is getting in your way (maybe even the actual housework). You know what “house work” I’m talking about. The checking of the emails (or simply organizing it), managing your calendar, email marketing, etc. I could go on and on about things that you would simply prefer not to do. Whatever it is it’s preventing you from really focusing on what you love to do best AND causing you to be working in your business ALL the time. No real time off, no real vacations, no quality time with family, just work.

So this week I want you to really think about your weekend and ask yourself how can you find more time to do the things you love and share the business “housework” so you won’t have to do it all?
